Prize Giving

Only 5 children in Daniella's year received prizes at Prize Giving this year and Daniella was one of them. She received a trophy for 'The best artist' and a fantastic art set. What an honour in her first year at her new school. I did try not to cry, but who can help it when their heart is so full of pride?

Swimming Gala

Swimming is Daniella's strongest sport! She did brilliantly in the interhouse gala at school with a couple of firsts and a second. She even swam some extra races as a team mate was absent on the day. Needless to say, her house won and I was a very proud mum!

Sports Day

Daniella put her heart and soul into Sports Day. She did javelin, discus, 100m sprint, relay and tug of war. She is not the best at athletics, but tried her best and thoroughly enjoyed the day! We had a lovely picnic for lunch and her friends joined us for a bite to eat and a nice cool drink.

Summer Concert

The Summer Concert was fabulous! Daniella's Urban Dance group performed a great dance to 'These Boots are made for Walking'. She also sang in the choir and her class put on a very funny 'Froggy went a courting' act. Overall, the concert was a great success! I was so caught up in the tales of Froggy and Miss Mousey (Daniella) that I forgot to take photos!

Art Exhibition

The end of the school year - June, July, is a very busy time with so much to see and do. Daniella's Art Exhibition was the start of it all. She had three items on show. She was nominated by her art teacher to be in charge of the Chapel tapestry and almost single handedly completed the project. Daniella received half colours for art this year. Perhaps a budding artist in the making....

Pony Party

During the Easter break, one of Daniella's friends had a pony party at the stables she rides at. Lucky for her, she got her favourite horse Oliver, or Oli, as she likes to call him.
On the 9th of April, Daniella had "Own a Pony Day" and went to the stables for the entire day. She did a lot of riding, mucking out and getting Oli kitted up. She had such a good day, but of course now is intent on having her own pony....

Scotland

At long last, during the February half term, Daniella and I finally made our way to Scotland to see Allan, Faith, Sam, Jenna and Lily. What a reunion! It was SO good to see the Walker's! Door to door, it was an eight hour trip - a car ride to the station, a train to London, two tubes in London, a train ride to Edinburgh and then a bus with Allan to their home. Why such a long journey? It was the cheapest mode of travel and rather picturesque for fist time Scotland visitors. Allan and Faith have a lovely home and wonderful girls. A lot of fun was had by all - and some tears when leaving....
