Next Stop - Chessington World of Adventures

Next theme park was Chessington World of Adventures. Now that was a good day out. The park is huge! We could easily have spent two days there. We went on every ride possible, including some rather fast roller coasters. We also wnet into an Egyptian tomb and had to shoot possible threats to mankind. I hate to say it, but don't mess with me, I'm still a crack shot! We also, much to Daniella delight, went on a water ride and got absolutely soaked.

Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park was the first of the theme parks we planned to visit during the summer holidays. The roller coasters were HUGE so we opted out of the larger ones. We still had a good day out though.

My Turn

Inset Day in England means that no kids come to school, but staff are in for training etc, so on the 4th July, our team got together for a bit of a team build and we sailed off to the Isle of Wight. It was gorgeous and we will definately have this as an annual event. Who would have thought that I'd enjoy sailing?!

The Beach

On the 15th June, we ventured off down to the beach. The sun wasn't out all day, but it was great to see the sea again. I had to drag Daniella off to the Oceanarium when it started to rain, and then we had a stroll around the fun fair before going home.

Marwell Zoo

On the 30th May, off we went to Marwell Zoo to see the new baby in town. A tiny little giraffe was born and of course, we had to see it! What a little sweetie. Marwell House, in the middle of the zoo, is just stunning, and is available to the public for any functions.

Friends

On the 25th May, Daniella and I took a drive up to Croydon to see Faith and Allan, who were there for the weekend. It was so good to see them! They have three gorgeous daughters, so of course we had loads of fun. Funny how time between visits cannot affect friendship. Faith and I did a lot of catching up and it didn't feel like we had been apart for almost a year! Daniella and Sam played for hours and there were many tears upon leaving. Me included!

Back to Legoland

Daniella loves Legoland, as I'm sure TJ will agree, it's the best, so back we went on the 16th April. We went on all the rides and when "jumping" off the boat ride, I slipped and fell and ended up at A & E and on crutches for a month! It didn't ruin our day though. I kept going and only went to hospital the next day when I couldn't walk!

Snow Days

Who would believe snow on the 6th April? See how much snow there is on our car!

Us

The Road

The Golf Course

After a quick change from our pj's, we ventured out to the golf course. What a wonderful sight! Daniella made a HUGE snow ball and we had a snow ball fight. If the winner is the one who stayed dryest, I think I won! Don't think there'll be any golf today....

Blizzard

This morning we woke up to a blizzard! Daniella had to go out in her pj's to stand in the wonderful snow!

Easter

Easter was brilliant! We had a huge Easter Egg hunt at a friend's house and all the kids found so many eggs, we're still eating them! What fun!

Talent

Daniella and her friends entered the talent show at school - an amazing magician act! They had a ball.

Football

Daniella has been a football fan for a while now, but never got the chance to play in SA. A couple of FA coaches went to her school a few weeks ago to do a bit of training and Daniella was chosen to play in a tournament on Friday. She had SO much fun and achieved a bronze for ball skills! She was also lucky enough to have her photo taken for the Daily Echo. It seems she has some potential.... See her in action on the AWP at Perins. First all in blue, then with a red bib on.

The Big 10

As you all know, Daniella turned 10 on the 14th January! Double Digits! She wanted to have a riding party at the stables she rides at on weekends, so, 5 friends plus Daniella, set off for a wonderful afternoon filled with pony games and lots of food. Everyone had an amazing time!

Ice Skating in Winchester

There's a gorgeous outdoor ice rink outside the Winchester Cathedral each year and Daniella and her friends had so much fun, we had to do it again, and again.... The mulled wine on sale while the children were skating, was good too!

More Ice Skating

Daniella likes to pretend to fly accross the ice... after all the sessions, she's become quite a pro!
